Commuters planning to travel on a local train in Mumbai city of Maharashtra on June 23, Sunday, should be prepared for disruptions. The Mumbai Railway Undertaking (MRU) will be carrying out essential maintenance activities on the UP and DOWN Harbor lines between Mahim and Goregaon, impacting local train services. The disruptions are scheduled to take place from 11:00 am to 16:00 pm.
During this period, Goregaon-bound trains will be canceled, and some slow train services may also be affected. The Divisional Railway Manager – Mumbai Division of Western Railway has confirmed that all Goregaon trains and Harbor services towards the Central Railway will be interrupted due to the Jumbo Block.
A list of affected trains will be available at the station master’s office. Passengers are advised to make alternative travel arrangements or check with station authorities for updates and alternative travel options.
This maintenance work comes amidst predictions of “very heavy” rainfall over Maharashtra over the next five days by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The same prediction has also been made for Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. Mumbai is expected to have generally cloudy skies with a possibility of moderate to heavy rain.
