Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar are facing the threat of heavy rainfall, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a yellow alert for Monday. The weekend witnessed substantial rainfall across the city and its surrounding areas, with Thane recording a significant triple-digit rainfall.
The IMD’s Santacruz and Colaba observatories reported 96.8mm and 57mm rainfall, respectively, in the 24-hour period ending Sunday at 8:30 AM. Thane, on the other hand, received an impressive 144mm rainfall during the same period, as per IMD data.
