Munjya Box Office Collection Day 4: Horror-Comedy Collects ₹23 Crore
The Bollywood movie Munjya, a horror-comedy directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Maddock Films, has performed well at the Indian box office in its first four days. Released on June 7, the film has collected an impressive ₹23 crore.
On its opening day, Munjya collected ₹4 crore. The numbers increased the following day, with the film collecting ₹7.25 crore. On Sunday, the business was even better, with the film collecting ₹8 crore. As per early estimates, the movie collected ₹3.75 crore on Monday.
Munjya is based on the belief that Munjya spirits, the spirits of men who died unmarried after their Munjya ceremony but before their Sod Munjya ceremony, dwell in peepal trees or near wells. This makes people afraid of going near wells or peepal trees at night.
Maddock Films, founded by producer-director Dinesh Vijan, earlier produced another horror comedy, Bhediya, which starred Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, and Abhishek Banerjee. That movie collected over ₹100 crore at the box office.
According to media reports, Munjya has been made with a budget of ₹25 crore. The film’s promising box office performance suggests that it is on track to be profitable.
