Mysuru’s New Travel Mart Aims to Transform Destination into Year-Round Attraction

Mysuru, known for its seasonal charm, is making a bold move to become a year-round tourist destination. The city inaugurated a two-day domestic travel mart on Friday, a crucial step in broadening its appeal. This initiative, spearheaded by the India Travel Mart Exhibition (ITME), goes beyond simply showcasing the city’s attractions. It aims to build a robust travel trade ecosystem by connecting industry stakeholders and fostering collaboration.

ITME Director Parthasarathy Raju highlighted the event’s expansive reach, with 30 kiosks featuring participants from across India, including international representation from Nepal and Thailand. This travel mart marks a significant first for Mysuru, signifying a proactive approach towards sustainable tourism growth.

Mysuru’s Joint Director of Tourism, Savitha, elaborated on the strategy, emphasizing the valuable knowledge participating travel companies will gain about the diverse range of destinations within and surrounding Mysuru. This newfound expertise will empower them to effectively promote Mysuru as a tourist hub within their respective markets.
