Telugu superstar Nagarjuna faced a setback on Saturday morning when the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) demolished his N-Convention center in Madhapur. The demolition was carried out despite a stay order, prompting Nagarjuna to seek immediate legal intervention.
HYDRA asserted that the N-Convention was built on encroached land, specifically on the Full Tank Level of the Tummidikunta lake. Nagarjuna, however, vehemently refuted these claims, stating that the land was legally acquired and no encroachment had taken place.
Nagarjuna, who co-owns N-Convention with Nalla Preetham through their company, N3 Enterprises, took to social media to express his dismay over the demolition. He condemned the action as unlawful, emphasizing that it violated existing stay orders and ongoing court cases. He highlighted that the land was a Patta land, a type of land ownership in Telangana, and that no portion of the lake’s area was encroached upon.
Further adding to the actor’s concerns, he emphasized that no notice was issued prior to the demolition. He pointed out that a stay order had previously been granted against any demolition attempts concerning the building constructed on the private land. Nagarjuna asserted that he would have carried out the demolition himself had the court ruled against him, indicating his commitment to legal compliance.
Nagarjuna’s legal team subsequently approached the Telangana High Court for relief. Justice T Vinod Kumar, presiding over the hearing, granted an interim stay on the ongoing demolition activities. The court’s decision provides temporary respite for Nagarjuna and N-Convention, allowing for further legal proceedings to determine the validity of the demolition.
This incident has raised significant questions regarding the legality of the demolition, prompting further investigation and legal action by both sides. The outcome of the legal proceedings will determine the fate of N-Convention and clarify the ownership and land use involved.
