Narxoz University, a leading private university in Almaty, Kazakhstan, has unveiled its newly constructed Emen student residence. This modern facility boasts 424 beds and has quickly become the premier student housing option in the country.
The Emen residence, built to the highest international standards, emphasizes comfort and environmental responsibility. Each bedroom is equipped with a private bathroom, air conditioning, and built-in furniture. Residents also have access to shared amenities including kitchens, utility rooms, coworking spaces, medical facilities, and Wi-Fi.
Student well-being is central to the design. The fifth floor features a spacious 400m2 roof-garden, providing students with a relaxing retreat filled with rare plants. This high-quality accommodation aims to support students in achieving their academic goals by providing a comfortable and supportive living environment.
Environmental considerations were meticulously integrated into the project. The Emen residence was built to promote biodiversity, with over 100 trees and shrubs planted on-site, and the surrounding areas thoughtfully landscaped. Local residents were actively involved in the project and will have access to the external botanical areas, fostering a strong sense of community.
Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education, highlighted the importance of addressing the housing shortage, stating that the ministry has made significant progress in reducing the deficit. He commended the new dormitories, including the Emen residence, for providing students with well-designed, comfortable accommodations.
Bulat Utemuratov, a shareholder of Narxoz University, emphasized the university’s commitment to developing modern educational infrastructure. He cited the recent renovation of the campus, the new student residence, and the ongoing construction of a new business school as key elements of their strategy to establish Narxoz as a leading university in the region.
