NASA’s Crew-9 Mission to ISS Launches on Saturday After Delays

Get ready for a space launch! NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Roscosmos cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov are set to embark on a journey to the International Space Station (ISS) this Saturday, September 28th, after facing several delays. The SpaceX Crew-9 mission is scheduled to lift-off from Space Launch Complex-40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida at 1:17 pm EDT.

The duo are expected to dock at the ISS around 5:30 pm on Sunday. You can witness this exciting event live through NASA+ and the official NASA website. Launch coverage will begin at 9:00 am EDT on Saturday (6:40 pm in India), with arrival coverage picking up the next day at 3:30 pm on the same platforms.

The Crew-9 mission was initially planned for a mid-August launch but was pushed back a month. This decision was made to dedicate more time to analyzing issues with Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft, which remains docked at the station. The departure date was then moved again this week due to Tropical Storm Helene. The hurricane is anticipated to bring strong winds and heavy rain to the launch area in Florida as it traverses the Gulf of Mexico.

This will be the ninth crew rotation mission with SpaceX under NASA’s Commercial Crew Program, marking another significant step in the ongoing exploration of space. As the launch date approaches, anticipation builds for the successful launch and safe arrival of the Crew-9 mission to the ISS. Stay tuned for updates and live coverage of this exciting space event.
