Navi Mumbai Woman Murdered, Boyfriend Suspect: Police Form Teams to Trace Accused

The body of a 20-year-old woman, bearing multiple injury marks and stab wounds, was discovered in bushes near the Uran railway station in Navi Mumbai. The victim, identified as Yashashree Shinde, a resident of Uran, was brutally stabbed to death, allegedly by her boyfriend. Shinde, who had been reported missing, used to travel to work in Belapur. Police received a call around 2 am regarding the discovery of the body.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Navi Mumbai) Vivek Pansare stated that the initial investigation suggests the woman was murdered after a love affair went wrong. The girl’s boyfriend, who is the primary suspect, is currently missing. Police have formed five teams to trace the accused and a murder case has been registered.

In a separate incident, Mumbai police successfully solved the murder of history-sheeter Guru Waghmare, who was killed at a spa. The killers were apprehended with the help of tattoos on Waghmare’s body, which listed the names of 22 individuals who could potentially harm him. Among these names was Santosh Sherekar, the spa owner, who was subsequently arrested.

Waghmare, who claimed to be a Right to Information activist, had a history of criminal cases registered against him. He was killed at Soft Touch Spa in Worli in the early hours of Wednesday. During the autopsy, it was revealed that he had inscribed the names of his potential enemies on his thighs.

Police investigations revealed that Sherekar, the spa owner, allegedly hired someone to kill Waghmare, motivated by Waghmare’s extortion threats. Waghmare was known to extort money from spa owners in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar since 2010. He had several criminal cases registered against him, including extortion, rape, and molestation.
