NBAA to Host Fund an Angel Fundraiser for Cancer Patients at 2024 BACE

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) is proud to announce the return of the ‘Fund an Angel’ fundraiser at the 2024 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE). This event, organized by Corporate Angel Network (CAN), is dedicated to supporting CAN’s mission of providing business aircraft travel for cancer patients seeking treatment.

Taking place on Wednesday, October 23, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas on the Waterbleau Terrace, the fundraiser promises an evening filled with networking opportunities, refreshments, and a silent auction. Attendees at NBAA-BACE are encouraged to join fellow members of the business aviation community for this impactful event.

Beyond raising essential funds, the event also aims to raise awareness of CAN’s vital work. CAN President and CEO Robert Stangarone highlights the significance of the fundraiser, stating, “As our most important fundraiser of the year, Fund an Angel proceeds enable us to grow our mission, helping cancer patients during the worst times of their lives.”

CAN is actively seeking donations for its upcoming silent auction, inviting contributions of unique items or unforgettable experiences. These donations will play a crucial role in supporting CAN’s mission. Last year’s event saw CAN raise nearly $500,000 through a combination of sponsorships, individual contributions, and the silent auction. Notable items up for bid included autographed tennis rackets from legends like Roger Federer, Andre Agassi, and Steffi Graf, as well as flight training packages from industry leaders CAE and FlightSafety International. Other sought-after auction items included jet fuel cards, Apple watches, club-level tickets to Giants football games, and luxurious vacation packages.

In 2023 alone, CAN facilitated over 2,000 flights for cancer patients, connecting those in need of transportation with available seats on business jets. This adds to their remarkable legacy of arranging more than 68,000 cancer patient flights since its founding 42 years ago. Partnering with over 500 corporations, including half of the Fortune 100 companies, CAN continues to make a significant impact in the lives of cancer patients across the country.

NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen emphasizes the alignment of the event with the values of the business aviation community, saying, “Business aviation is a community dedicated to giving back and helping those in need. This event, coupled with CAN’s long history of organizing humanitarian flights with business aircraft, perfectly aligns with these values. We are thrilled to once again support this essential organization.”

This fundraiser represents a testament to the commitment of the business aviation community to supporting those in need. It offers a unique opportunity to network, enjoy an evening of camaraderie, and contribute to a cause that makes a tangible difference in the lives of countless individuals battling cancer.
