NEET PG 2024 Results Expected This Month: How to Check Your Scorecard

The wait for the NEET PG 2024 results is almost over! The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is expected to announce the results by the end of August 2024. Once declared, candidates can access their scores on the official NBEMS website, natboard.edu.in.

This year’s NEET PG exam, held on August 11th, 2024, saw a significant change in its format. Instead of the usual single shift, the exam was conducted in two shifts – the first from 9 am to 12:30 pm and the second from 3:30 pm to 7 pm. A total of 216,136 candidates appeared from 416 centers across 170 cities in 31 states, with 1,07,959 candidates appearing in shift I and 1,08,177 in shift II.

To ensure fairness and accuracy in evaluating the scores, NBEMS has adopted a new normalization process for calculating the results. This process is similar to the one used by AIIMS-New Delhi for its various exams, including INI-CET. The highest score in each paper will be considered the 100th percentile, meaning that 100% of candidates scored equal to or lower than the top scorer in that shift. The percentile scores will be calculated to 7 decimal places to reduce ties and minimize the bunching effect.

To access their scorecards, candidates will need to download them from the official website, nbe.edu.in. The results will not be sent to individual candidates’ registered email addresses. The NEET PG scores will determine admission to 13,886 Master of Surgery (MS), 26,699 Doctor of Medicine (MD), and 922 PG Diploma seats. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the counselling process for 50% of the All India Quota (AIQ) and 50% of the state quota seats.

It’s important to note that the NEET PG exam was originally scheduled for June 23rd but was postponed due to the NEET UG controversy and concerns regarding the integrity of competitive examinations in the country. After reports of paper leaks and irregularities, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) decided to postpone the exam as a precautionary measure.
