The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has made significant progress in the investigation of the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak case. The agency has revealed that the exam paper was allegedly solved on the morning of the examination by students enrolled in MBBS programs at prestigious institutions like AIIMS Patna, RIMS Ranchi, and a Medical College in Bharatpur. These students, who paid for the service, received the solved paper from the alleged masterminds of the operation.
The CBI has identified and arrested most of these MBBS student solvers, who were allegedly brought to Hazaribagh as part of the conspiracy. The investigation has revealed a complex network of individuals involved in the leak. The alleged mastermind, Pankaj Kumar, is suspected to have collaborated with the principal and vice principal of Oasis School in Hazaribagh. This collaboration allegedly allowed them to access the exam question paper before the scheduled time on May 5, 2024. Pankaj Kumar then facilitated the solving of the paper and distributed it to candidates who had paid for his services.
The CBI has arrested the school principal, Ehsanul Haque, who also served as the NTA City Coordinator, and vice principal, Imtiaz Alam, who acted as the Centre Superintendent. They are accused of allowing unauthorized access to the question papers kept in the school’s control room. The agency has seized sophisticated tools used to open the trunk containing the question papers.
The CBI has identified and arrested several other individuals associated with Pankaj Kumar, who acted as his gang members. In total, the agency has arrested 36 individuals in connection with the case. The investigation is ongoing, and the CBI is determined to bring all those involved to justice. The agency has emphasized the seriousness of the crime and the impact it has had on the integrity of the NEET examination. The agency’s efforts to crack down on such illegal activities aim to ensure a fair and transparent examination process for all aspiring medical students.
