The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a clarification regarding the claims made by medical aspirant Ayushi Patel about discrepancies in her NEET UG 2024 result. Patel had alleged that her result was not generated and that the NTA had received her OMR sheet in a torn state. However, the NTA has stated that no torn OMR Answer Sheets were sent officially by the agency. It confirms that Patel’s OMR sheet is intact, and her scores are accurate according to official records. Candidates are advised to download their scorecards only from the official website. This development comes amid complaints about the use of a ‘normalization formula’ by the NTA to award grace marks in the NEET exam, leading to a Supreme Court petition accusing the agency of ‘marks inflation.’ The NTA has set up a committee to review the grace marks awarded to candidates. The medical entrance test for admission to undergraduate medical programs was conducted by the NTA on May 5. The provisional answer key of NEET 2024 was released on May 29, while the final answer key was released on June 4.
