NEET UG Counselling 2024: Registration Begins in August, First Round Starts on 14th

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), has announced the commencement date for the first round of NEET UG Counselling for the 2024 academic session. The counselling process, which will allocate seats in various medical courses across India, is scheduled to begin on August 14th, 2024.

The counselling process will cover a total of 1,09,145 MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) and 27,868 BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) seats. Additionally, approximately 1,000 BSc Nursing seats will be allocated through NEET counselling, along with several others in AYUSH and veterinary courses.

Aspiring medical students are advised to stay informed about the latest updates and schedule through the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in. The registration process for the counselling is expected to start in the first week of August.

According to the National Medical Commission (NMC) Secretary, Dr. B Srinivas, the counselling will allocate approximately 1.10 lakh MBBS seats in around 710 medical colleges across the country. The counselling process will also cover 21,000 BDS seats, in addition to seats in AYUSH and nursing courses.

The MCC will be responsible for administering the counselling process for the 15% all-India Quota seats, as well as 100% of the seats in all AIIMS, central universities, JIPMER (Pondicherry), and deemed universities.

Following the release of the final NEET UG 2024 results on July 26th by the National Testing Agency (NTA), eligible students can now apply for the NEET UG Counselling 2024 through the official website. The counselling will be conducted in multiple rounds to ensure the allocation of seats in MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and veterinary courses across the country.
