Nespresso Partners with Change Please to Combat Homelessness

Nespresso has partnered with Change Please, a social enterprise dedicated to ending homelessness, to provide a powerful solution: a cup of coffee. Through this collaboration, Nespresso aims to make a real impact on the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness by supporting Change Please’s mission of providing training, employment, and essential support services.

Nespresso’s commitment includes a minimum £1 million pledge to Change Please, which will be used to expand its reach to Ireland, replicating the successful model from the UK. This investment will empower over 50 individuals in Dublin by offering them barista training, living wages, mental health support, housing assistance, and opportunities for onward employment.

The partnership goes beyond financial contributions. Nespresso will also be launching a new line of coffee blends specifically for Change Please, available for all three Nespresso coffee systems: Original, Vertuo, and Professional. A portion of the profits from the sale of these blends, as well as accessories like mugs, caps, and umbrellas, will be directly donated to Change Please.

Change Please, founded by Cemal Ezel, operates on the principle of ’employment first’, believing that providing individuals with meaningful employment can be a catalyst for lasting change in their lives. Ezel emphasizes the importance of resilience and the need to continue fighting homelessness. The partnership with Nespresso signifies a shared commitment to demonstrating how companies can effectively drive social change and improve the lives of those most in need.

Anna Lundstrom, CEO of Nespresso UKI, highlights the company’s long-standing dedication to empowering communities through its AAA Sustainable Quality Program. This partnership extends that commitment by supporting Change Please’s innovative model, which transforms lives through the simple act of enjoying a cup of coffee.

The £1 million pledge will be allocated strategically. Half will support over 50 trainees in the Republic of Ireland. A quarter will be used to establish a new retail site or café in a key city, further supporting the employment journey of trainees and graduates. The remaining funds will go towards expanding and upgrading Change Please’s operations, including the development of an improved mental health platform.

By choosing Nespresso for Change Please coffee, consumers directly contribute to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness. It is a small change in daily routine that translates into a significant step toward positive societal change. Learn more about the partnership and how to get involved at Nespresso.com/uk.
