Netflix Acquires ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ YA Adaptation from BBC Three

The series, which is currently in post-production, is an adaptation of Holly Jackson’s bestselling novel of the same name. The story follows Pip Fitz-Amobi (Myers), a bright and determined high school student who becomes obsessed with the unsolved murder of a schoolgirl named Andie Bell. Despite the official verdict that Andie was killed by her boyfriend, Sal Singh, Pip believes there is more to the story and sets out to prove Sal’s innocence.

The cast of ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ also includes Zain Iqbal, Anna Maxwell Martin, Gary Beadle, Mathew Baynton, India Lillie Davies, and Rahul Pattni. The series is directed by Dolly Wells and written by Poppy Cogan, who previously worked on the horror series ‘Red Rose’.

Netflix has acquired the streaming rights to the series in the U.S. and most other territories, except for the UK, Ireland, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand. The global popularity of ‘Wednesday’, in which Myers plays the beloved character of Enid Sinclair, is believed to have contributed to the acquisition by Netflix.

‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ is produced by Moonage Pictures, the co-producer of ‘The Gentlemen’, and ZDFneo. Matthew Read, Matthew Bouch, and Frith Tiplady serve as executive producers for Moonage, while Lucy Richer and Danielle Scott-Haughton executive produce for the BBC. Jonas Melcher executive produces for ZDFneo, and Wells, Jackson, and Cogan also serve as executive producers. Florence Walker serves as the series’ producer, with Zia Ahmed, Ajoke Ibironke, and Ruby Thomas contributing to the writing team under Cogan’s lead.
