As summer approaches, Netflix’s fantasy film lineup remains underwhelming. The recent remake of “He-Man” being one of the top suggestions for fantasy films on the platform is a testament to the lack of quality offerings in this category. While recent additions such as “The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf,” “Shadow and Bone,” and “Cursed” are somewhat enjoyable, they fall short of being exceptional. Aside from a few original series like “The Witcher” and “Shadow and Bone,” fantasy has not received much attention from Netflix. Given the popularity of the genre, it is disappointing to see such a limited selection of high-quality fantasy films on Netflix. To truly cater to the needs of its subscribers, Netflix needs to significantly improve its fantasy film offerings. Until then, subscribers will have to make do with the current, albeit mediocre, selection.
