Netizens Demand Removal of BCCI Secretary Jay Shah Amid India-Pakistan Clash

With the highly anticipated India-Pakistan cricket clash at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup just a few hours away, netizens are keeping the internet buzzing with their witty memes. Amidst the excitement, a tweet has emerged, alleging that Nitish Kumar, chief of Janata Dal (United), and Chandrababu Naidu, president of Telegu Desam Party, are seeking to remove BCCI secretary Jay Shah from his position.

The tweet, posted by Shantanu on Twitter, claims that in addition to demanding top portfolios, Kumar and Naidu are adamant about removing Shah from his post as BCCI secretary. Kumar reportedly expressed concerns over Shah’s Hindi communication skills, stating that they are not easily understood by cricket fans in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, while Naidu raised similar concerns regarding Shah’s English proficiency, claiming it is problematic for cricket fans in Andhra Pradesh and South India. This tweet, which was posted on June 6, has quickly gained traction, garnering over 1.1 million views and 2.8k retweets so far. Various netizens have chimed in, expressing their opinions on the matter.

Himanshu Yadav, a Twitter user, believes the demand to remove Shah is justified, stating that he should not hold the position of BCCI secretary due to his poor communication skills and lack of expertise in cricket. Another user, Premanand Johns, added to the clamor, suggesting that former Karnataka Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has also joined the chorus, demanding Shah’s removal due to his inappropriate behavior and physical mannerisms. Ashwanii S Kumar expressed hope that the demand is merely a joke, acknowledging its comical nature.

On the other hand, Anshul defended Shah, stating that despite his communication challenges, he at least attempts to answer questions and does not resort to insulting journalists. Hemanth Surapaneni expressed a pessimistic view, believing that India’s chances of winning the World Cup are slim as long as Shah remains in his position. Vikram Barhat suggested Shah could benefit from attending language classes with Shashi Tharoor to improve his communication skills.

Kamal Kumar, another Twitter user, expressed a dissenting opinion, stating that Shah’s removal would be unacceptable, as he provides entertainment value. Meanwhile, on the political front, Narendra Modi is set to be sworn in as India’s Prime Minister for the third consecutive term on Sunday, with the support of Nitish Kumar’s JDU and Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP.
