The Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Fred Lam as Chairman and three new members to its Board, effective June 1, 2024. Dr. Dorothy Chan Yuen Tak-fai, Mrs. Ann Kung Yeung Yun-chi, and Mr. Perry Yiu Pak-leung will join the Board as newly appointed members, while Ms. Sabrina Chao Sih-ming and Mr. Edwin Tong Ka-hung have been reappointed to continue their service.
Mr. Lam, who has served as AAHK’s Chief Executive Officer since 2014, will succeed Mr. Jack So as Chairman. Mr. So has served AAHK for the past nine years, overseeing the completion of the third runway under challenging circumstances during the pandemic. The new runway has been operational since November 2022, and the remaining project is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Mr. Lam expressed his gratitude to Mr. So for his leadership and support, and pledged to continue working closely with the Board, the executive team, and the Government to realize the Airport City vision. This vision aims to transform the airport into a new landmark and further enhance its role as a key international aviation hub in the region.
The AAHK Board will consist of 17 members effective June 1, 2024, including Mr. Fred Lam Tin-fuk as Chairman. The Board will also commence a worldwide search for a new CEO without delay.
