New Month, New Rules: Changes Coming to Government Services on June 1

Effective June 1, various government services will undergo notable changes.

Obtaining a Driver’s License


The Ministry of Road and Transport has introduced new rules for obtaining a driver’s license. Applicants can now take driver’s tests at certified private facilities. After successfully passing the test, the certificate can be submitted to the authorities to acquire the license.

Aadhar Card Updates


Individuals can update their personal details on their Aadhar Card by June 14 to avoid errors. This can be done online or at Common Service Centres (CSCs).

Bank Holidays


June will see ten bank holidays, including the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays. Additionally, banks will be closed for Raja Sankranti on June 14 and on June 17.

LPG Cylinder Prices


The prices of LPG cylinders may decline in June. The government’s schemes, such as Ujjwala Yojana, aim to promote the use of LPG for cooking in households.
