The Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) is delighted to welcome New Zealand Maori Tourism as the Gold Partner for the 2024 South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE), a testament to SPTO’s commitment to rebuilding Pacific tourism post-COVID and nurturing Pacific partnerships. SPTE 2024 will take place from May 4-5 at the Sheraton Resort & Spa, Denarau, Nadi, Fiji. SPTO Chief Executive Officer Christopher Cocker expressed gratitude for New Zealand Maori Tourism’s substantial support, acknowledging their continuous backing of SPTE since 2019. Cocker emphasized the significance of this partnership in strengthening Pacific partnerships and enabling Small Island States to participate in SPTE 2024. He also highlighted SPTE’s position as the leading regional tourism event, fostering collaboration and showcasing the Pacific’s diverse offerings to a global audience. New Zealand Maori Tourism CEO Pania Tyson-Nathan shared her excitement about the collaboration, noting the shared whakapapa connections that facilitate mutual learning and growth. SPTE 2024 will provide an invaluable opportunity for industry partners to unite in promoting the Pacific to the world.
