Newlywed Indian-Origin Man Shot Dead in Suspected Road Rage Incident in Indiana

A newly married Indian-origin man, Gavin Dasaur, was tragically shot and killed in front of his wife in a suspected road rage incident in Indiana. The 29-year-old victim was returning home with his Mexican wife, Viviana Zamora, when the altercation occurred.

According to reports, Dasaur, who hailed from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, had married Zamora on June 29th. Video footage captured by another driver shows Dasaur exiting his vehicle at an intersection and yelling at the driver of a pick-up truck. He was seen carrying a handgun in his right hand, which he used to strike the door of the truck. Dasaur then switched the gun to his left hand before the driver of the pickup responded by firing shots. Dasaur immediately fell to the ground.

The shooter, who remained in his vehicle throughout the brief confrontation, was initially detained but later released. Authorities are investigating the incident, citing “self-defense” as a possible justification for the shooter’s actions due to the victim’s possession of a handgun. This incident has shocked the community and brought renewed attention to the dangers of road rage and the importance of conflict resolution.
