The 2024 NFL Draft is set to kick off on Thursday night from Detroit, Michigan, and the Buffalo Bills will be on the clock with the No. 28 pick in the first round. Based on the past three drafts, the Bills are expected to make their selection after 11 p.m. EST. In 2023, the Cincinnati Bengals selected DE Myles Murphy at 11:28 p.m. EST, while the Green Bay Packers picked DT Devonte Wyatt at 11:14 p.m. EST in 2022. The New Orleans Saints drafted DE Payton Turner at 11:40 p.m. EST in 2021.
Teams have 10 minutes to make a selection in the first round of the draft. Some teams use the entire clock to work the phone lines in an attempt to make a trade, while others use only a few minutes if their top target is available. That is why the time varies year-by-year.
