NIRF Rankings 2024 to be Announced on August 12th

The eagerly awaited National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings for 2024 are set to be announced on August 12th at 3 pm. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will unveil the rankings at a special event held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The rankings, encompassing 13 categories, will be accessible to the public on the official NIRF website, nirfindia.org.

Minister of State for Education Sukanto Majumdar will also be present at the event. The rankings, following past trends, will be released across various categories, including universities, colleges, research institutions, engineering, management, pharmacy, medical, dental, law, architecture and planning, agriculture and allied sectors, and innovation.

The NIRF ranking methodology, developed by a Core Committee established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), emphasizes a comprehensive evaluation process that considers key parameters such as teaching, learning, resources, research, professional practice, graduation outcomes, outreach, inclusivity, and perception.

The 2023 NIRF rankings, announced on June 5th, saw IIT Madras secure the top spot in the overall category. IISc Bangalore and IIT Delhi claimed the second and third positions respectively. In the universities category, IISc Bangalore emerged as the leader, followed by JNU and Jamia Millia Islamia. IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, and IIT Bombay topped the engineering category, securing the first, second, and third positions respectively.
