In the Overall category, three institutions ranked within the top 20: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur at number 5, Banaras Hindu University at number 11, and Aligarh Muslim University at number 16. In the Engineering category, two institutes ranked within the top 10: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur at number 4 and Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) at number 10. In the Management category, a single institute ranked within the top 10: Indian Institute of Management Lucknow at number 7. NIRF Ranking 2024: Madhya Pradesh
In the 2024 NIRF rankings, Madhya Pradesh’s performance was less impressive. Despite having several universities, only a limited number achieved positions in the top 20 across various categories. For example, the Indian Institute of Technology Indore achieved a rank of 16 in the Engineering category, while in the Overall category, it was ranked at number 33. There were no other institutes or universities from Madhya Pradesh within the top 20 rank holders in these categories. NIRF Ranking 2024: Bihar
Surprisingly, Bihar did not have any institution or university within the top 20 list of any NIRF category. However, the state had two institutions in the top 100: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna at number 73 and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Patna at number 99.
