Notably, he had previously won a silver medal in the men’s high jump T47 category at the Tokyo Paralympics, setting a new Asian record of 2.06m. Townsend, who claimed the Paralympic gold in 2021, also added the Paris 2024 title to his collection. Kumar’s consistent performance is further evident in his gold medal win in the men’s high jump T47 at the 2022 Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, China.
Kumar’s silver medal adds to India’s growing medal count at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. His performance serves as a testament to his dedication and skill, showcasing the potential and talent within Indian Paralympic sport.
