Kobe Knox, the No. 26 recruit in the 247Sports Composite rankings, has recommitted to Arkansas after previously decommitting from Kentucky. Knox announced his decision on Monday, citing his trust in Calipari’s ability to develop him as a professional and his strong relationship with Payne.
Knox is an aggressive scorer who averaged 22.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 30 minutes per game in the Overtime Elite League this season. He converted 81 3-pointers in 30 games for RWE and was the No. 1 per-minute scorer in the Nike EYBL last spring and summer.
Knox elected to reopen his recruitment after Kentucky’s loss to Saint Peter’s in the NCAA Tournament. He is now reunited with the coach who also helped his brother, Karter, become the No. 9 overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft after one season at Kentucky.
Knox’s commitment is a significant boost for Arkansas, which has lost all 13 scholarship players from last season to graduation, transfer, or the NBA draft. Calipari now has a fresh slate to build his team around Knox and other potential recruits who have yet to make a decision.
