Noida police conducted a raid on a rave party held at a flat in the Supernova residential society in Noida Sector-39, resulting in the detention of 39 college students, including some minors. The incident occurred on Friday night after Uttar Pradesh police received information about the party. A team was dispatched to the location, where they apprehended the students, who were all affiliated with a well-known college. The ages of the detained students ranged from 16 to 20 years.
During the raid, authorities recovered a significant amount of Haryana-labelled alcohol bottles, hookahs, and other items. Investigations revealed that the party was organized through WhatsApp, with an entry fee of ₹500 per person and ₹800 per couple. A case has been registered in connection with the incident.
This incident follows a series of similar busts of rave parties in India. In May, Bengaluru police broke up a rave party where 86 out of 103 attendees tested positive for drugs. The party, held at a farmhouse in Singena Agrahara area near Electronic City, was attended by individuals from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, including Telugu actors Hema and Aashi Roy. Police seized various drugs, including hydro cannabis, cocaine, hydro ganja, MDMA pills and crystals, along with other items such as mobile phones and vehicles.
On New Year’s Eve, Thane police conducted a raid on a rave party near a creek, detaining 95 youngsters. The raid was prompted by a tip-off about the party. These incidents highlight the ongoing issue of underage drinking and drug use at rave parties, prompting authorities to increase their vigilance and enforcement efforts.
