Norfolk Southern Corporation has announced the appointment of Jason A. Zampi as Senior Vice President Finance & Treasurer, effective immediately. In his new role, Zampi will assume broader responsibilities, including oversight of treasury and investor relations, in addition to his current role overseeing financial planning and analysis. He will continue reporting to Mark George, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer.
Zampi’s promotion follows the departure of Chris Ceraso, the former Vice President & Treasurer, who has decided to pursue new opportunities. Through his collaborative efforts and deep understanding of the business, he has been crucial in identifying opportunities for productivity enhancement and strategic investments, supporting key business decisions and aligning with the railroad’s overall strategy.
Mark George expressed his confidence in Zampi’s capabilities, stating, “Jason’s collaboration, business acumen and steadfast focus on outcomes is instrumental in our ability to drive exceptional results across our franchise. This elevated role positions him for even greater impact.” George further highlighted Zampi’s crucial role in maintaining Norfolk Southern’s strong relationships with the investment community and shareholders.
Prior to his promotion, Zampi served as Vice President and Controller, and Assistant Vice President, Corporate Accounting at Norfolk Southern. He brings a wealth of experience to the position, having also held a senior management role at KPMG LLP before joining the company. Zampi is a certified public accountant and earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University.
