The Norwegian Dawn, after a successful summer season in Northern Europe, has officially set sail on a repositioning cruise to the Mediterranean. Departing from Le Havre, France, on Friday, September 27th, the ship embarked on a ten-night voyage that promises to be a delightful journey through Spain and other European gems.
The Norwegian Dawn’s itinerary includes stops at captivating ports, starting with Zeebrugge in Belgium, followed by Southampton in England. The ship then heads to Le Verdon, a French port that serves as a gateway to the enchanting city of Bordeaux. The journey continues with visits to La Coruña and Porto, offering a taste of Spain and Portugal’s rich history and culture.
After crossing the Strait of Gibraltar and entering the Mediterranean Sea, the Norwegian Dawn will make its way to Malaga and Ibiza, showcasing the beauty of Spain’s southern coast. The cruise concludes its open-jaw itinerary in the vibrant city of Barcelona on October 7th, 2024.
This Mediterranean adventure sets the stage for the Norwegian Dawn’s next chapter, a series of nine- to ten-night cruises to the Eastern Mediterranean. These captivating itineraries will feature a diverse range of destinations, including Italy, Spain, France, Montenegro, Croatia, Greece, and Turkey. Departures will be available from key ports such as Barcelona, Trieste, and Piraeus, with planned stops at several popular ports of call, including Catania, Cannes, Kotor, Dubrovnik, Santorini, and Istanbul.
Following its journey through the Eastern Mediterranean, the Norwegian Dawn will transition to its winter deployment, starting in early November. The ship is set to offer a lineup of captivating itineraries throughout the 2024-25 season, focusing on Africa, the Indian Ocean, and the Middle East.
The winter program kicks off with an ambitious 21-night cruise to the western coast of Africa, showcasing a selection of unique destinations. These include Dakar in Senegal, Banjul in Gambia, Abidjan in Ivory Coast, and Luanda in Angola, providing a glimpse into the diverse cultures and landscapes of this continent.
Before concluding the cruise in Cape Town, the Norwegian Dawn will also make calls to São Tomé and Príncipe, as well as the Canary Islands, Morocco, and Namibia, adding more layers of intrigue and adventure to the journey. This extensive deployment is expected to run through late March 2025, with departures planned from Doha and Port Louis, in addition to Cape Town.
