This ambitious program outlines a roadmap for accelerating the company’s decarbonization and circularity efforts, solidifying aluminum as the material of choice for sustainable solutions.

The increasing demand for sustainable products driven by consumer preferences is propelling the adoption of lower-carbon solutions, particularly in industries like automotive, beverage packaging, building and construction, and aerospace. Novelis believes that the 3×30 vision will enable the company to support its customers in achieving their sustainability targets more rapidly by focusing on three key objectives to be reached by the end of 2030:

Pushing the boundaries of recycled content:
Novelis aims to increase the average recycled content in its products to 75%, significantly exceeding its current average of 63%.2.
Minimizing carbon footprint:
The company strives to become the lowest-emissions flat-rolled products aluminum provider, achieving less than 3 tonnes of CO2e per tonne of flat-rolled product (FRP) shipped.3.
Leading the industry towards circularity:
Novelis will continue to make first-mover investments to drive the industry toward a circular economy for aluminum.Novelis 3×30 builds upon the company’s previous sustainability achievements, including a 10 percentage point increase in its average recycled content and a 27% reduction in carbon emissions in fiscal year (FY) 2024 compared to its FY16 baseline. These achievements have positioned Novelis as a frontrunner in the industry with an average recycled content of 63%.
