NSW Choose Tourism Program Expands to Address Workforce Shortages
The NSW Choose Tourism Program, supported by the Albanese Government and implemented by Destination NSW, aims to address workforce shortages in the tourism sector. This expanded initiative now encompasses five programs designed to strengthen the tourism workforce throughout regional NSW.
The programs include educational outreach in schools, focused career advertising, online vocational seminars, mentorship from industry experts, and professional growth events. Additionally, the Choose Tourism Grant Program will collaborate with TAFE NSW to create specialized training programs for the visitor economy.
The NSW visitor economy is a critical driver of jobs and employment in regional NSW. This five-part program will offer free, easily accessible training opportunities that empower aspiring professionals and directly support job creation, fueling the growth of the $50 billion NSW visitor economy.
