Eligible families in New South Wales could receive an energy rebate of up to $180 to assist with electricity costs. This rebate, known as the NSW Family Energy Rebate, aims to help families with dependent children manage their electricity bills. The rebate is available to residents who receive the Family Tax Benefit and have lodged their tax return for the previous financial year with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
Additionally, eligible households may receive a one-off National Energy Bill Relief Household Payment of up to $500. To be eligible for this payment, you must meet the following criteria:
* Live in NSW
* Have an electricity account in your name
* Have lodged your tax return for the previous financial year with the ATO
* Finalized your entitlement to Family Tax Benefit payments with Centrelink
