This hefty package was primarily driven by the surging demand for Nvidia’s artificial intelligence (AI) chips, which have fueled the company’s share price rally and positioned Nvidia as the third-most valuable company globally, trailing only Microsoft and Apple.
Huang’s compensation is a testament to Nvidia’s success in the AI chip market, where its products are widely used in applications such as data centers, gaming, and autonomous vehicles. The company’s strong performance has also significantly boosted Huang’s personal wealth, making him the 18th richest person in the world with an estimated net worth of $80.5 billion.
In addition to Huang’s substantial salary, the company’s chief financial officer, Colette Kress, also saw a salary increase of approximately 22% to $13.3 million last year. Furthermore, Nvidia’s median employee salary rose by 17% to $266,939 in fiscal 2024.
