NVIDIA is facing some hurdles with its upcoming Blackwell AI GPUs. The company is currently working on redesigns, and a new B200A model is on the horizon. Amidst these challenges, some details about the specifications of the Blackwell Ultra have emerged.
NVIDIA initially revealed its mid-generation refresh, the Blackwell Ultra, earlier this year. It is expected to be followed by the next-generation Rubin R100 AI GPU featuring ultra-fast HBM4 memory in 2025, assuming there are no delays for Rubin, unlike Blackwell.
According to SemiAnalysis, the Blackwell Ultra serves as a mid-generation enhancement to the original Blackwell. The standard CoWoS-L Blackwell Ultra is known as “B210” or “B200 Ultra.” It boasts significant upgrades, including up to 288GB of 12-Hi HBM3E memory and a performance boost of up to 50% in FLOPS.
The B200A will also receive a Blackwell Ultra version, although there won’t be any memory upgrades. SemiAnalysis reports that the die might be redesigned to enhance FLOPS.
NVIDIA’s upgraded B200A Blackwell Ultra introduces a brand new MGX NVL 36 form factor. It will also be available in HGX configurations, similar to the original B200A.
