An NYPD officer was struck by a car in Travis, Staten Island, on Wednesday morning while conducting a traffic stop. The officer pulled over a gray Jeep just after 1 a.m. near the West Shore Expressway and Victory Boulevard. As the officer was walking in the vicinity, the Jeep suddenly pulled out and sideswiped him, causing minor injuries to his leg. The driver of the Jeep was taken into custody by authorities. The injured officer was transported to Staten Island University Hospital in stable condition.
