NYPD: Suspects Celebrate Bronx Murder with Coronas at Local Bar

Two suspects being sought by police in connection with the fatal stabbing of a father-to-be in the Bronx went to a local bar to “celebrate” their killing, an NYPD official said Tuesday. Keven Ramirez, 27, was fatally stabbed on Wythe Place in Mount Eden on Monday night. Detectives retraced the victim’s steps and determined that he was involved in an argument with several men on the block before being stabbed once in the chest. The stabbing punctured an artery and caused massive internal bleeding. Ramirez was transported to BronxCare Health System, where he was given 30 units of blood, but he could not be saved. After the stabbing, two men were spotted on video surveillance running off and ducking into a bar about two blocks from the murder scene. “They go into a local tavern, order a bucket of Coronas and celebrate their kill,” NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said at a news briefing Tuesday. Ramirez’s girlfriend, Yomaira Gomez, told the Daily News that they were expecting a child in just two weeks. “So I didn’t get time to say bye, you know? Maybe if you called me at the time it happened, maybe I would have time to see my baby daddy and he would talk to me,” she said. “But he already passed.” Police are still working to track down the suspects who remain at large.
