If you encountered difficulties with yesterday’s NYT Strands puzzle, you may find today’s installment more manageable. Strands remains a challenging game, but today’s theme of headwear offers a more accessible starting point. To avoid spoilers, proceed with caution.
Today’s NYT Strands theme revolves around different types of headwear, including hats. Playing words like DEBUT, ABBOT, WHEEL, BARN, HERO, BUTTER, and HAT will unlock in-game hints. The puzzle starts on the left side, 4th row, and ends on the right side, 4th row.
Unlike recent Strands puzzles, which often required specialized knowledge, the theme of hats is more widely known. The answers include TURBAN and BONNET, which may be slightly more challenging to identify, but most are fairly straightforward. The spangram, running from left to right in the middle of the board, is particularly easy to uncover.
Strands is the latest word game from the NYT, following the success of Wordle and Connections. It is currently in beta and can be played on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile. If you’re struggling to solve Strands, I have a comprehensive guide that provides tips and tricks to help you succeed.
