Oakland International Airport (OAK) in the San Francisco Bay Area is bringing a new level of excitement to travel with the launch of innovative augmented reality (AR) games. Partnering with Agents of Discovery®, a leading platform in educational technology, OAK is participating in the Bay Area Explorer 5.0 Campaign. This initiative involves various agencies throughout the Bay Area, all aiming to deliver engaging and educational experiences for travelers.
The AR games at OAK are designed to provide a fun and interactive learning experience for passengers, particularly families. These missions focus on aviation and environmental themes, offering a unique opportunity to explore the airport and learn about its operations and the importance of environmental conservation.
To participate in the Bay Area Explorer 5.0 Campaign, travelers can simply download the free Agents of Discovery mobile app. The app offers various missions, each featuring interactive challenges that teach players about local history, culture, ecosystems, and safety. The platform is available in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, and French, making it accessible to a wide range of travelers.
The campaign is currently underway and will be available until September 7th. Other participating agencies include the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Park Service, Santa Clara County Parks, California State Parks, Oakland Zoo, BART, and more. This collaboration provides travelers with a comprehensive exploration experience, showcasing the diverse attractions and educational opportunities throughout the Bay Area.
