An Oakland restaurant that recently suffered its third break-in in three years was broken into a fourth time this week.
Roasted and Raw, a restaurant on 14th Street that began as a pandemic-era pop-up, posted on Instagram that it would be closed Monday due to a break-in.
“Roasted and Raw will be closed today due to another break,” read the post, which was accompanied by a picture of a shattered glass door at the restaurant’s entrance.
This latest incident follows another break-in last month. That break-in was Roasted and Raw’s third in the three years since it opened.
At the time, the restaurant’s owner Imani Greer told KRON4 he was considering leaving Oakland.
“It really has taken a serious toll on us. Physically, emotionally, financially, obviously,” said Greer at the time.
Last month, Greer said the cost of the damage far outweighs the financial loss, since he doesn’t leave much cash in the business if any. The windows that the burglars smash to gain access, however, can cost thousands of dollars to replace.
KRON4 has reached out to Greer for comment on this latest incident. We have not heard back at this time.
