The Obama-Biden State Department is accused of actively obstructing FBI operations related to the lawful arrests of known terrorists, members of Iranian proliferation networks, and other criminals supporting Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs. This revelation emerged from unclassified and legally protected whistleblower disclosures obtained by Senators Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson.
The records suggest that then-Secretary of State John Kerry intervened to block arrest warrants and extradition requests, despite the FBI’s readiness to proceed with these actions. In at least eight instances, the FBI lost opportunities to apprehend main subjects due to State Department interference. Some of these individuals were on the Terrorism Watch List, and one was forced to leave the US immediately upon arrival due to State Department intervention.
The interference reportedly began in 2015 and continued throughout the Obama-Biden administration. Despite concerns raised about stand-down orders to arrest criminal Iranians, the State Department allegedly continued to block FBI actions where it had a role in approving or concurring, such as visa approvals and lure operations.
Emails from within the FBI and Justice Department indicate that the issue escalated to the highest levels, with then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch discussing the matter with Secretary Kerry. However, DOJ and FBI leadership apparently allowed the interference to continue until the Trump administration altered its course.
Senators Grassley and Johnson have demanded records from former officials, including Kerry, CIA Director Bill Burns, Wendy Sherman, and Secretary of State Antony Blinken, to further investigate the alleged interference. The FBI and DOJ have confirmed receipt of Grassley’s letter but declined to comment, while the State Department has not yet responded to a request for comment.
