Oceania Cruises to Set Sail from Tampa, Florida, Marking a First for Ultra-Premium Cruises

Oceania Cruises, renowned for its culinary and destination-focused cruises, is making waves by becoming the first ultra-premium cruise line to offer voyages from Tampa, Florida. This exciting new venture will bring a series of Caribbean and Panama Canal itineraries starting in early 2026, offering travelers a unique and luxurious way to explore these stunning destinations.

The 670-guest Insignia, known for its relaxed yet refined luxury, will embark on captivating seven to 20-night itineraries. These itineraries will include stops at picturesque destinations such as St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Tortola, Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Belize City. Travelers will also have the opportunity to experience the iconic Panama Canal with a daylight transit and enjoy an overnight stay in Panama City.

The choice of Tampa as a departure point is strategic. The city’s vibrant culinary scene, boasting Michelin-starred restaurants and immersive local food tours, perfectly aligns with Oceania Cruises’ reputation as the only true foodie cruise line in the world. Additionally, Tampa International Airport offers 41 non-stop flights, making these itineraries easily accessible.

Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises, expressed his enthusiasm for this new venture, stating, “Port Tampa Bay represents an exciting new chapter as Oceania Cruises becomes the first ultra-premium cruise line to have dedicated voyages from Tampa. This expansion opens a convenient gateway to Florida’s west coast and the Gulf of Mexico, aligning perfectly with our brand’s cosmopolitan essence.”

Paul Anderson, President and CEO of Port Tampa Bay, also welcomed the partnership, saying, “We are thrilled to have Oceania Cruises at Port Tampa Bay. The arrival of Insignia enhances Tampa’s status as a premier cruise destination, promising significant economic opportunities for our region, local businesses, and workers.”

Onboard the Insignia, guests will enjoy the epitome of luxury. The boutique ship, with a dedicated crew of 400, ensures attentive service for its 670 guests. Guests can indulge in gourmet dining at specialty restaurants like Polo Grill, a classic American steakhouse, and Toscana, an Italian dining venue. The ship also features the Aquamar Spa + Vitality Center, a sports deck with various recreational activities, a top-of-ship library, vibrant lounges and bars, and a casino.

Oceania Cruises offers exceptional value with a range of always-included amenities such as dining at all specialty restaurants, unlimited WiFi, butler service for guests in Penthouse Suites and above, and in-room dining with premium beverages. This new venture from Tampa promises to be a game-changer for Oceania Cruises, offering travelers an unforgettable cruise experience with a touch of luxury and convenience.
