Oklahoma City Family Massacre: Man Kills Wife and Three Sons, Spares One Child

Oklahoma City police identified the gunman in Monday’s horrific family massacre as 42-year-old Jonathon Candy. Candy killed his wife, Lindsay, 39, and their three sons: Dylan, 18; Ethan, 14; and Lucas, 12. The couple’s 10-year-old son was spared.

Investigators said Candy shot his wife overnight, then went through the home systematically killing his sons. He then turned the gun on himself.

Police said they had never been called to the home before and had no previous contact with the family. All four children attended Mustang Public Schools, a district that covers the suburb of Mustang and parts of western Oklahoma City. Dylan graduated in 2023, Ethan was in ninth grade, and Lucas was in sixth grade.

The motive for the killings is still under investigation. Police said they are looking into whether Candy had any mental health issues or if there were any other factors that may have contributed to the tragedy.
