Eggs are a quick and easy breakfast staple, but they can also be easily ruined by overcooking or adding too much liquid. Many cooks rely on butter, cream, or other dairy products to achieve perfect scrambled eggs, but a culinary expert has revealed a lesser-known hack: olive oil.
Phil Bianchi, a flavor maestro and founder of The Gift of Oil, shared his secret ingredient with Express.co.uk. He explained that using olive oil instead of milk creates the fluffiest and smoothest scrambled eggs, resulting in a restaurant-quality dish at home. The best part? You can experiment with different flavors by using infused olive oils, such as chilli-infused or basil-infused, adding a touch of zest to your breakfast.
To achieve the perfect scramble, Phil recommends a gentle approach. Cook the eggs on low heat and remove the pan every 30 seconds to let them breathe. This prevents overcooking and ensures a creamy texture. He also advises against traditional seasonings, suggesting a more flavorful alternative: chilli flakes, parmesan, fresh parsley, pink Himalayan salt, and his personal favorite, white pepper.
For the best results, crack the eggs into a nonstick pan filled with your chosen olive oil. Add a splash of water and beat the mixture until smooth. Place the pan on low-medium heat and stir continuously until the eggs become fluffy with a smooth texture. Take the pan off the heat just before the eggs appear fully cooked, as the residual heat will continue to cook them. Finally, sprinkle your chosen seasoning and arrange the eggs on toasted bread for a delicious and satisfying meal.
