Speedmaster Moonwatch: A New Spin on a Classic
Another spring highlight from Omega is the highly anticipated Speedmaster Moonwatch with white dial. Initially spotted on the wrist of Omega ambassador and James Bond actor Daniel Craig, this rendition of the world’s most famous chronograph features a lacquered white dial for the first time.
A long-standing partner of NASA, Omega pays homage to its space exploration heritage through elements incorporated into the Speedmaster. The original Speedmaster, created in 1957, featured a black dial with white hands for enhanced legibility. This latest iteration reverses the colour theme, achieving a similar effect.
Alongside the black sub-dials, the glossy dial proudly displays the red Speedmaster name, a colour prominently used in NASA astronauts’ spacesuits. A black anodised aluminium bezel crowns this 42mm classic, which is powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronograph Calibre 3861. Two additional strap options are available, both drawing inspiration from the watch’s lunar connection: a rubber strap with a moon surface pattern in relief for added comfort and a leather strap with red-and-white top stitching.
