ONDC Records 374,000 Orders in a Single Day During T20 World Cup Final

The government-run Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) achieved a remarkable milestone during the T20 World Cup final, processing a staggering 374,000 orders in a single day. This record-breaking performance demonstrates the ONDC’s capability to handle high-volume transactions during significant events. The statement from ONDC highlighted the exceptional growth of the F&B category, which recorded 61,000 orders during the peak event. These figures underscore the increasing adoption of the ONDC Network approach and its transformative impact on India’s e-commerce landscape. The ONDC, by providing a level playing field for businesses of all sizes, continues to enhance the digital shopping experience for consumers across the nation. Prior to this, ONDC had achieved a record-breaking 8.9 million transactions across retail and ride-hailing segments in May. In the retail segment alone, ONDC reached a new peak of 5 million orders in May, marking a significant increase from the 3.59 million orders processed in April. During this period, the network also witnessed a single-day peak of 200,000 retail transactions. The grocery and food delivery categories both crossed the 1 million order mark for the first time, while the home and kitchen segment saw 630,000 orders, fashion reached 330,000 orders, and other retail sub-categories collectively contributed 2 million orders, according to the network.
