One Piece Season 2 Adds Four New Villains to the Cast

Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece is expanding its cast for season 2 with the addition of four new villains. Joining the series are Daniel Lasker (Raised by Wolves) as Mr. 9, Camrus Johnson (Batwoman) as Mr. 5, Jazzara Jaslyn (Warrior) as Miss Valentine, and David Dastmalchian (Late Night with the Devil) as Mr. 3. These four characters will be serving as agents within the infamous criminal organization known as Baroque Works.

Based on the beloved manga series by Eiichiro Oda, the live-action One Piece follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, as they navigate the high seas in search of “One Piece,” the legendary treasure left behind by the late pirate king, Gold Roger. This treasure holds the promise of making Luffy the “King of the Pirates.”

Alongside Godoy, the cast features Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. The ensemble also includes Vincent Regan as Vice Admiral Garp, Jeff Ward as Buggy the Clown, Morgan Davies as Koby, Aidan Scott as Helmeppo, Peter Gadiot as Shanks, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino as Alvida, Langley Kirkwood as Captain “Axe Hand” Morgan, Steven Ward as Dracule Mihawk, Craig Fairbrass as Zeff, Alexander Maniatis as Klahadore, and McKinley Belcher III as Arlong.

Developed for Netflix by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda, One Piece is a collaborative effort between Tomorrow Studios, Netflix, and manga publisher Shueisha. The first season, consisting of eight episodes, premiered on August 31, 2023. According to What We Watched: A Netflix Engagement Report, One Piece season 1 achieved the remarkable feat of becoming Netflix’s most-watched TV series for the second half of 2023, garnering an impressive 71.6 million views. Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of season 2, which is slated to arrive in 2025.
