Orange County Tennis Stars Poised to Continue Ojai Success

Corona del Mar senior Niels Hoffmann, committed to USC, is the top seed for the CIF boys singles event, where an Orange County player has triumphed for the past four tournaments. The Beckman brothers, Caden and Tyler Lee, are the top seed for CIF boys doubles, with an Orange County tandem having claimed the title for the past two tournaments. The prestigious high school tournament kicks off Thursday and culminates with the finals on Saturday, showcasing the county’s top tennis talent.

Hoffmann, aiming for redemption after losing in last year’s singles final, will be joined by a strong contingent of Orange County players looking to continue their county’s hot streak at Ojai. For over two decades, Orange County players have dominated the singles competition, with Stefan Dostanic capturing the title in 2018, Aditya Gupta following suit in 2019, and Conrad Brown bringing home the trophy in 2022.

In doubles, the Orange County siblings’ reign continued last season, with Woodbridge’s Avery and Brayden Tallakson emerging victorious. The Lee brothers have the opportunity to become the second consecutive pair of Orange County siblings to claim the doubles crown, following in the footsteps of the Tallaksons.

Tyler Lee has demonstrated his potential by securing the Pacific Coast League singles title this season, while University, the defending team champion in Ojai, will field a formidable team led by the Im brothers, SangHyuk and JiHyuk, who are poised to make a significant impact in doubles play.
