Overwatch 2 Celebrates 100 Million Players with New Season, Skins, and Map

Blizzard Entertainment is celebrating a major milestone for Overwatch 2: 100 million players! To mark this achievement, the studio is launching Season 11 on June 20th, bringing with it a wave of new content and a return of a beloved skin. The theme of Season 11 is ‘Super Mega Ultrawatch,’ promising a superhero-themed experience. Players will have the opportunity to unlock Legendary Ultrawatch skins with a superhero-inspired design, including Genji, Repaer, and Sojourn. These skins will be available in the Season 11 premium battle pass.

The season also introduces a new map called Runasapi, set in the vibrant and colorful city of Peru. This push map features a visually striking landscape with narrow streets and cliffside locations. Players will need to navigate this challenging environment while escorting TS-1, the target of the push.

In addition to the new map, Season 11 brings hero mastery courses for Kiriko and Soldier: 76, allowing players to deepen their understanding of these characters. Alongside these additions, Blizzard is offering the usual seasonal goodies, including exclusive Twitch community drops, a new free battle pass, and hero balance changes.

For those looking for cosmetic enhancements, Season 11 has something special in store. A new weapon skin type, Mythic Weapon skins, will be introduced midseason on July 23rd. These skins feature unique visual and audio effects that can be unlocked using Mythic Prisms. You can further customize these skins by leveling them up, adding emotes and unlocking even more effects.

Perhaps most exciting for many fans is the return of a popular cosmetic: Pink Mercy. This skin, which will be available in the shop starting June 25th, was previously removed after its initial release. Notably, all proceeds from Pink Mercy and the Rose Gold Mercy bundle will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

With a focus on both gameplay and cosmetic additions, Season 11 promises a diverse experience for Overwatch 2 players. Whether you’re eager to explore the new map, unlock new skins, or delve deeper into hero mastery, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in this exciting new season.
