The Padma Awards 2024 have recognized 132 individuals for their outstanding contributions to art, social work, public affairs, and other fields.
Among the recipients are renowned Indian classical dancer and scholar Padma Subrahmanyam, who has made significant contributions to Bharatanatyam. Posthumously, the award honors Bindeshwar Pathak, the founder of Sulabh International, for his work promoting sanitation and hygiene in India.
Popular actor and politician Konidela Chiranjeevi, known for his work in Telugu cinema, has also been recognized. Vyjayantimala Bali, an accomplished actress, dancer, and politician, has been acknowledged for her contributions to the Indian film industry. Additionally, M Venkaiah Naidu, a veteran Indian politician who served as the Vice President of India, has been honored for his work in public affairs.
