Pakistan Recalls Leg-Spinner Abrar Ahmed for Second Test Against Bangladesh

Pakistan has made a strategic shift for the second and final Test against Bangladesh, recalling leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed to the squad. This decision comes after their gamble of fielding an all-pace attack on a slow track backfired spectacularly in the first Test in Rawalpindi.

The first Test saw Pakistan suffer a historic defeat, their first ever against Bangladesh. Their fast bowlers struggled to make an impact on the slow pitch, while Bangladesh’s spinners, Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, dominated, sharing seven wickets between them and leading Bangladesh to a memorable 10-wicket victory.

Abrar, who boasts an impressive 38 wickets from six Test matches, has been brought back into the fold. He is joined by uncapped spin-bowling all-rounder Kamran Ghulam, who has earned his first call-up to the national team. All-rounder Aamer Jamal has also been recalled, but his participation is subject to fitness clearance.

The second Test, also in Rawalpindi, is set to begin on Friday. This match promises to be a tense and exciting encounter as Pakistan seeks to salvage some pride and avoid a series whitewash. The inclusion of Abrar, a proven wicket-taker in Test cricket, adds a crucial spin element to the Pakistan bowling attack, potentially turning the tide in their favor.
